Lynn, first time Hypno-mom from Cambridge
My son is almost 3 months old now, and not a day goes by that I don't look back on his birthing day with a big smile on my face and excited butterflies in my whole body.

I LOVED birthing day... every second of it. My favourite part before actually pushing my baby boy out? Transformation! Thanks to Tracy's awesome coaching and lots of persistent practice, Hypnobabies made my pregnancy and my birthing day a completely positive love story.

At midnight on my baby's guess date, my first pressure waves woke me up. I turned on my birthing day track and tried to sleep while listening but I was too excited. (I had no clocks in my birthing space so the rest of these times are estimated times my birthing team told me afterwards) I let my midwife check me around 2:30am and She said our baby was definitely coming today! I was 3cm so she went back home to rest up while I progressed more with just my wife and my hypno tracks. My waters released around 5am and I called my midwife to let her know that they had, but that my pressure waves were still only on the lower half of my belly so I didn't think I was too close yet. She said I could continue whatever I was doing and call her when the waves were around my whole belly. We called her back to the house around 6 or 7 am and I was 6cm and fully effaced. My midwife noticed while checking me that one side of my cervix was progressing more than the other. She suspected that his head was sideways (I later learned that it's actually because my cervix is tilted to the left) and suggested I either stand beside the stairs with one foot a couple steps up or sit in the toilet with one foot on a stool for 30mins. I sat on the toilet leaning on my wife as she guided me to stay loose and breathe from my belly. (Its amazing the difference that makes!) Within 20 minutes, that position brought me to my transformation stage. My body was feeling such intense waves, and I was so excited because it did not feel like pain at all even though I did not feel like I was in a deep hypnosis. Also, I have never felt a closer connection to my wife than having her support in that moment.

My midwife came into the bathroom and told me to let her know if I start feeling the urge to push. It was as though her words flicked a switch because as soon as she walked out of the room I got that Ughhhh pushing feeling. She checked me and sure enough It was pushing time! I relaxed and acknowledged what was happening next while they finished preparing my birthing tub. The water was just what I needed to stay focused. I asked for my pushing baby out track to be turned on and felt a great amount of  motivation and excitement. Not once did I feel like I couldn't do this, not once did I feel exhausted or overwhelmed. I remember saying "Wow, I'm excited!"

I did feel discomfort as my baby was crowning and coming out. My team supported me through that very well. In what felt Like no time at all my baby was in my arms  at 11:26am.

My midwives told me afterwards that they loved that I could easily express anything I needed or wanted. They also said I was so quiet and that I took their suggestions very well.

It was the most amazing day of my life. I can't wait to do it again!

First time Hypno-mom from Mississauga
Hypnobabies helped me a lot during my pregnancy and birth.   I knew I wanted a natural birth but I had a lot of fear about it and I was unsure if I could do it.  By the time I finished the course, I was actually excited for the birth to begin!  It helped me so much to feel confident and ready.

When my baby did decide to arrive, it was very quick.  My water broke in the middle of the night, at 2am and about 10 minutes later I started to have pressure waves (that’s what Hypnobabies calls contractions).  They were coming fast – only 2 minutes apart – and they were intense.  I decided to lay down in bed next to my husband and entered hypnosis.  When the next intense wave started I asked him to do the “relax” cue with his hand on my shoulder.  I instantly felt my whole body sink into the bed and from that point on my waves felt much better.  I also lost complete track of time, but at some point I started to make “uuuughh” sounds and I moved to the toilet.  It felt like the place I needed to be, so I followed my body.  I stayed there for a while and noticed that with each “uugh” I was having a very involuntary pushing feeling.  My body was starting to push the baby down!  We decided we better get to the hospital quickly.  My husband got me and all our things into the car and we arrived at the hospital with my body still pushing.  The nurses got me straight into a room and checked me and they were shocked that I was at 10cm.  I started to help my body along with the pushing and before I knew it my baby was in my arms at 4:33am – only 2 ½ hrs in total!  It was a whirlwind experience but I was so happy and proud that I had brought my baby into the world with no drugs and I can honestly say with no pain thanks to my hypnosis!
